Homemade Booster Seat

How to Make a Booster Seat

From , former About.com Guide

Pam from Wisconsin shares how her grandmother easily created a booster seat for younger kids to use.

  • Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 20 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

  • 3 or 4 large books or catalogs
  • Piece of heavy fabric or bath towel
  • Large sewing needle
  • Heavy weight thread

Instructions:
Pam explains, "This is actually my grandmother's idea (she has now passed away). Take the books or catalogs and stack them together on the fabric (she used bath towels but any sturdy fabric would work). Wrap the books in the fabric snuggly as if you were tightly wrapping a gift. At all the areas you would normally tape a package, sew the fabric together. (For example along the bottom seam, down the triangles on the ends, etc.) And you have a booster to put on a kitchen chair for young visitors!"
