Wheel Barrow Planter Craft

These directions will teach you how to make a planter that looks like a miniature wheelbarrow using a laundry scoop.

  • Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Cut 3 small triangles out of cardboard. Cut a slit almost halfway down one side of your triangles (figure 1). At the slit, fold down one flap each way. It will look like a 'T' if you look at it from the side (figure 2).

Glue the triangles onto the bottom of the laundry scoop. One triangle should be in the center towards the scoop part of the laundry scoop. Two triangles should be glued towards on the back of the scoop by the handle. Glue them as far apart as possible (figure 3). Glue a button to each triangle (figure 4). Now your wheelbarrow planter is ready! Put some soil in the laundry scoop and a few fast sprouting seeds. Keep your planter in a sunny spot and make sure the soil stays moist!
