- Age Guideline: 8 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Draw a tie shape onto the paper side of the fusible web. Trim around the tie pattern, staying about 1" outside of the line.
Find a piece of scrap fabric big enough to fit your tie pattern. Choose a piece of fabric that is suitable for the recipient. For example, if the recipient like sports, try to find fabric that features baseballs or basketballs. If the recipient is likes fishing, try to find fabric featuring fish, boats, or fishing poles.
Using the directions that came with your fusible web, iron your tie pattern to the wrong side of the piece of fabric. Let it cool. Cut out the tie on the line you drew previously. Remove the paper backing from your tie fabric. Iron the fusible web backed tie onto the t-shirt, near the neckline. Let it cool.
Your necktie t-shirt is now done and ready to be given away or worn. If you would like to personalize the t-shirt further, use fabric paint or markers to write a special message.
From a Twitter Friend: Why not really make the tie personal by printing out pictures onto fabric sheets and making those into ties!
