Hot Cocoa Delight
How to Make a Hot Cocoa in a Jar Gift

By , About.com Guide

Jan Hennings shares these directions for making a unique hot cocoa container.

Materials Needed:

  • Empty, Clean Creamer Container
  • Kraft Paper (a paper bag works well)
  • Stamps of Your Choice
  • Ink
  • Ribbon
  • Candy Cane
  • Hot Cocoa Mix
  • Double-Sided Tape

Instructions:
This is how Jan transformed an empty cream container into a fun cocoa jar, but you can decorate yours however you want!

Start out by making sure your creamer container is clean and dry. Take off any labels to hopefully get a solid colored, plain bottle.

Jan cut a strip of Kraft paper (or paper bag) to fit around the bottle part of her creamer container (use the photo here as a guideline). She then used stamps and ink to decorate the paper. Let the ink dry completely before you attach it to the bottle so it doesn't smear.

Attach the decorated Kraft paper around the bottom half of the creamer container using double-sided tape. Decorate the rest of the bottle with ribbon, die-cuts, candy canes, and anything else you want.

Finally, fill the container with hot cocoa mix. There is no reason even to wrap this gift, simply make a Christmas card or gift tag to attach to the hot cocoa container and you are set.
