The most important thing when making an invitation is that you remember to include all of the required details. The very basics include:
- Who the party is for
- The date of the party
- The time of the party
- Where the party will be
- Any R.S.V.P. information
If the invitation you are making is for a bridal or baby shower, you might want to include some other important information. If the couple or parents-to-be are registered for gifts, make sure you let the invitees know where to look for them. If the sex of the baby is known, it is nice to include that so people have more options when shopping for gifts.
Making invitations for weddings can get much more complicated, depending on what the couple wants. It can be as simple as a one page print-out that includes all of the information mentioned above, or it can include several pages that include maps and R.S.V.P. cards. Just beware, when making wedding invitations, you might not save money by doing it yourself.
Here are a few examples of invitations I have made:
- Dr. Seuss Shower Invitation
- Printable Birthday Party Invitation
- Costume Party Invitation
- Buttons and Dots Party Invitation
