The Bag I'm Taking to Grandma's Story Sack
This fun story idea was shared by Deborah Crews who teaches pre-K.

For this activity, she started out with the book The Bag I'm Taking to Grandma's (compare prices) and also a bag for each child (any kind), old magazines, scissors, paper, and a pencil.

After reading the book to the kids, she asked them where they would like to send Grandma or Grandpa on vacation, and it could be ANYwhere. She wrote down what each child said and gave them the paper.

After the dictation, they cut out items from magazines or drew things they would pack for their Grandma or Grandpa to take on vacation. They put all of this, along with the dictation into a bag.

They had a class party and invited grandparents. They read the book and the kids presented the bags to their Grandparents at a party. The grandparents loved it!
