Candy Wrapper Race Game

Candy Wrapper Race

This fun candy wrapper race can be played individually or as a relay race. This is a great game for a small or large group of people of all ages. Depending on what kind of candy you use, this game is perfect for birthday parties, Halloween parties, and Christmas parties.

Supplies Needed:

  • Pair of mittens for each player
  • Wrapped candy for each player
  • Starting line/finish line (can be the same line)

Preparations Needed Before the Game:

You should mark out a starting line that can also double as a finish line. You can either designate an area or make a line on the ground using tape or chalk. Make a line long enough so everyone can stand spread out just behind the line. About 50 feet away form the starting line, lay out the wrapped candy. You will need one piece of candy for each player but it is a good idea to have a few pieces per person just in case. Spread the candy out so everyone can get to a piece without running each other over.

How to Play the Game:

To play this game as individual players, have everyone who is playing line up on the starting line and put on a pair of mittens. When everyone has on their mittens and are set on the starting line, have a person who is not playing yell "GO". At this time, everyone runs to where the candy is and tries to pick up a piece. When they pick up a piece, they need to run back to where they started and then unwrap the candy and get it in their mouth. They should then take off their mittens and hold their hands over their head. The first person who gets an unwrapped candy into their mouth, takes off their mittens, and holds their hands over their head wins the race!

It is easy to play this game as a relay race! Divide the group into different teams with the same number of players on each team. Have one person from each time stand on the starting line and have everyone else on his team line up behind them. The first person puts on the mittens. On "GO", the first person runs to the candy, picks up a piece and runs back to the starting line. The unwrap the candy, pop it into their mouth, and then remove the mittens and hand them to the next person on their team. That person puts on the mittens, runs and grabs a candy, and then races back to the start line to get the candy unwrapped and into their mouth. Continue this until everyone from each team gets a piece of candy. The final person on the team should remove the mittens and hold their hands up. The first team who has a person who hold their hands up over their head wins.
