- Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- 1 large paper plate
- 1 small paper plate
- 1 paper brad
- Small craft foam shapes depicting the seasons
- Marker
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Hole Puncher
Instructions:
Use a marker and ruler and draw lines on the back of the paper to divide it into 4 equal sections. Label each section using SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, WINTER. In each labeled section, glue small craft foam shapes that go along with the season. For example, for Winter you can use a snowman, mittens, snowflakes, etc. Let the glue dry.
Use the marker and ruler to draw lines on the back side of the larger paper plate to divide it into 4 equal sections. Use a glass or similar item to make an approximate 3-inch circle centered over where the lines intersect in the center of the paper plate. Cut out one of the 4 sections of the larger paper plate. Do not cut all of the way to the center of the plate, instead cut along the line you made when you traced around the glass.
To finish making your season wheel spinner, punch a hole in the center of each plate. Use a brad stuck into the holes you punched to attach the two paper plates together, back to back. Now you can spin the larger paper plate around and see all of the seasons!
