Framed Love Note Magnet Craft

Sherri Osborn
Recycle a CD case and make a magnet to frame and hang Terri's Love Notes for Special Parents. These magnets make wonderful gifts.

  • Age Guideline: 8 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Choose one or more of Terri's Love Notes for Special Parents. You may have to download them and re-size before printing so your finished product will fit into a cd case, which measures about 5.5" x 4.5". You will want it to print smaller than this so it can be mounted on coordinating paper.

Lay your cd case on top of the construction paper and trace. Cut it out just inside the line. Slip the construction paper into the cd case to make sure it fits. Trim as necessary to fit snuggly inside the case. You should be able to slide it into the tabs that would normally hold the CD cover/insert.

Cut out the love note you chose and glue it to the construction paper. Use a glue stick so your paper does not bubble. Let the glue dry and then slide your love note into the cd case and close tightly.

Cut 4 pieces of magnet about 1-inch x 1-inch. You can also recycle advertising magnets. Glue a piece of magnet in each corner on the back of the framed love note.

You can now embellish the front of your frame however you desire. You can use lace and colored gems as I did or you can use whatever you have on hand. You can add stickers, ribbon, glitter, feathers, etc. Let your creativity be your guide.
