Plastic Jug Handle Eye Masks

Use your creativity and these directions to create fun masks using the handle section of an empty milk or water jug.

  • Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Carefully cut off the handle section of the plastic jug. Use the photo here as a guide. You can use the rest of the plastic jug to make a plastic jug face mask.

Hold the handle section up to your face with the handle over your nose. Use a marker to put dots on the outside of the plastic jug handle where your eyes are. Cut out the eye holes.

Use masking tape to cover the cut edges of the plastic. If you prefer, you could use sand paper to smooth down the edges instead.

Poke two holes near the side edges, directly across from each other. Cut two pieces of yarn about 24-inches long. Tie one end of each piece of yarn into a hole. You can use the yarn to hold the mask in place. You can also make a handle to hold your mask in place using a dowel.

Use permanent markers and/or paint to design your mask. You can also use a variety of craft supplies to embellish. use feathers, craft foam, pom-poms, chenille stems, glitter, beads, or anything else to add details to your mask.
