Lacy Heart Craft

Lacy Heart Craft

Learn how easy it is to make adorable little hearts. A visitor named Gloria Cormier was nice enough to share these directions. You can make them to hang or attach them to a pin to wear.

  • Age Guideline: 10 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
You will start out with a piece of ribbon that is about 14-inches long. Fold over one of the long edges about a 1/4 of an inch and sew it to form a tube. Cut a piece of chenille stem about 4-inches long. Fold over one end of the chenille stem and slide it into the tube you made.

The ribbon will be gathered tightly on the chenille stem. Twist the ends of the chenille stems together and then shift up the lace to cover the ends. This will end up looking like a tiny, lace wreath.

Put a dab of glue on the back of both heart-shaped rhinestones. Glue one in the center of each side of the lace wreath. Let dry.

This makes a wonderful Christmas tree ornament or Valentine's Day decoration. Add a ribbon or monofilament for hanging or only glue a rhinestone to one side of the heart and attach it to homemade cards or add a pin back and you can wear it.
