- Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- Heavy Cardboard
- Nature Items (pine cones, acorns, etc.)
- Craft Glue
- Spray Paint (optional)
- Scissors or Utility Knife
Instructions:
Decide how big you want your wreath to be and cut that sized circle from the cardboard. Cut out an inner circle, making sure to measure about 3- to 4-inches from the outside edge. This will give you the wreath base.
Next, go out into the woods or to a local park that has trees and start having fun. Look for items you will want to glue onto your wreath (examples listed above in supplies needed). Be creative, as this is only a small list of things you will find. You can use any items that you feel would add beauty to your creation.
First, glue the pines cones onto the cardboard wreath. Be sure to space them out, do not glue them side by side. Glue them so they appear to be "standing up". Glue all your "little treasures (acorns, etc.)" onto the wreath. Be sure to fill in all spaces on the wreath, don't leave any empty spaces or the wreath won't be as pretty.
Let your glue dry and then take the wreath outside and paint it using the spray paint. Let it dry completely. If you prefer, you don't have to paint the wreath.
