Beggar Costume
Home-Made Halloween Costume Idea

By Sherri Osborn, About.com Guide

Find out how to make this simple yet creative Halloween costume. Follow these directions submitted by Omar Chunchi and you can dress up as a beggar.

Materials Needed:

  • Dark Make-Up
  • Old, Torn Clothes
  • Safety Pins
  • Empty Tin Cup
  • Couple of Small Rocks
  • Cheap Wig

Instructions:
Dress in old clothes. Make holes and rip them apart here and there, and then use safety pins to hold the pieces together. Use real dirt, dark make-up, or paint to make the clothes look dirty and stained.

Apply make-up to your face so it looks like it is smudged with dirt. Also use make-up, dirt, or paint to make the wig look like you have dirty hair. If you can find something to blacken your teeth, use it on one of your top, front teeth.

For a few finishing touches, put a couple of small rocks in a tin cup. Gently shake the cup back and forth to make it sound like some change is in it. You can also make a ho-bo bag by typing a piece of cloth onto the end of a stick.
