Beaded Pen and Pencil Wraps

How to Make a Beaded Pen or Pencil

Follow these simple directions and decorate a pencil using wire and beads. Make them in your favorite colors, your school colors, and many other designs!

• Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
• Time Required: 15 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

• Pen or Pencil
• Craft Wire
• Alphabet and Regular Beads (4mm worked well)
• Wire Cutters
• Needle Nose Pliers

Instructions:
Cut about a piece of wire about 4- to 6-inches. You can change this depending on the design you want to make. Use the needle nose pliers and bend down the tip of one end of the wire.

String beads onto wire to spell out a name or special word (I spelled love). Once you have your beads all on the wire, clip off any extra wire leaving just enough to bend over the end so the beads stay in place.

Now all you do is wrap the wire into a tight spiral around the pen or pencil.
