Materials Needed:
- Old Shirt and Skirt, Either Brown or Green or a Sweatsuit
- Large Selection of Silk Plants and Flowers
- Twigs (Optional)
- Fake Birds and Other Small Animals (If Available)
- Glue Gun and Glue
Instructions:
Glue the Silk flowers and plant pieces randomly all over the shirt and skirt or sweatsuit, however you choose. Also include the twigs if desired. Attach the fake birds and other small critters (if available) to the clothes, shoes, and anywhere else desired. You can even make a bird or two look like it is perched on your head by gluing the feet to a barrette (you can also use heavy wire).
Gennifer's Mother Nature Costume: She made her Mother Nature costume by using a hot glue gun to attach a variety of items to a sweatsuit. She used trinkets representing each season. She used Christmas snow ornaments, clear plastic snowflakes, glitter, artificial Fall leaves, ivy, flowers, bird's nest, bird, butterflies, sea shells, blue netting, and more. For a finishing touch, she bought camouflage sneakers and attached a small stuffed animal to each one. She said, "This costume is comfortable, warm and creative; in 2007 I won Overall Best Costume prize!" You can see a picture of the costume here and a picture of the shoes here.
