Personalized Pet Collar Craft

Dressing up your pet seems to be growing in popularity and the prices of these fashion statements are sometimes outrageous! If you would like to add a little sparkle to your pet's wardrobe, make these simple personalized collars.

• Time Required: 20 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

• Plain Nylon Collar
• Dimensional Paint
• Items to Embellish (Rhinestones, Jingle Bells, Fancy Buttons, Charms, Etc.)
• Craft Glue
• Mono-filament (optional)
• Scissors

Instructions:
Use dimensional paint and other items to decorate the pet collar however you like! You can start out by writing the pet's name using the dimensional paint. Let the paint dry completely before you add any other embellishments. Depending on the paint you use, this can take hours.

Once any paint is dry, you can decorate the collar by gluing on rhinestones, jingle bells, buttons, charms, beads, or anything else you like. To secure jingle bells, buttons, charms, beads, or other heavier items, thread a small piece of mono-filament through the hole and tie it tightly around the collar and then secure with a small dab of glue on the inside. If you like, you can also use an upholstery needle to sew the heavier items onto the collar.
