Pine Cone Corn Cob Magnet Craft

Follow these instructions to make a corn cob magnet out of a pine cone.

  • Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 20 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

For this craft, you need a pine cone that is closed. The tall, thin pine cones will also work. Paint yellow dots on the pine cone. I just added a dot of paint to all the bumps going down the sides of the pine cone.

Cut 2 bumps off the green chenille stem. Glue these along the side of the pine cone to look like the husks. You could also use felt for this. I attached a small magnet strip to the back and hung it on the fridge!

To make your corn cob look like Indian corn, paint it using yellow, orange, red, and brown paint dots. Make the husks using tan chenille stems or felt.
