- Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- 2 Old CDs
- Felt
- Wiggle Eyes
- Yarn
- Feather
- Pink Pony Bead
- Cardboard (from a cereal box etc.)
- Craft Glue
- Scissors
Instructions:
Cut out 2 circles from felt the same size as the CD (it is easiest to trace the CDs). Glue the felt circles onto one side of each of the CDs, covering the one side completely.
For the front side of Poliwag: Cut one white circle out of felt about half the size as the other circles. Glue it on one of the CDs you covered; make it off center a little bit.
Glue on the pink bead and the wiggle eyes, using the picture as a guide. Glue black yarn into a spiral, starting from the inside of the white circle and work your way out.
For the back of Polywag: Glue on the feather. I liked it best laying on it's side sticking out over the edge of the CD.
Now for the slightly tricky part. Once the glue on both of the CDs is dry, you want to attach them at the top and at an angle. This will make it so Polywag can stand. Glue the top edge together and make sure the bottom edges are about 3-inches apart. Cut a piece of cardboard about 3-inches long by 4-inches wide. Cover the cardboard with a piece of felt with 2 feet shape cut out.
Glue the bottom part of the CDS onto the cardboard so the feet stick out the front. TA-DA!
