How to Make Reverse Prints

Learn how easy it is to make a reverse print. For this craft technique, you lay your printing item on your paper or fabric and use a sponge or a paint brush to dab paint around it.

• Age Guideline: 3 Years and Up
• Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

• Plain Paper
• Items to Print Around
• Paint
• Sponge or Paint Brush or Sponge

Instructions:
Choose an item with defined edges and then set your piece of paper down on your work surface. Lay your item on the paper. Decode what color of paint you want to use and then use a paint brush or a sponge to apply the paint around the item.

In the picture above, I used leaves to make reverse prints. I started by laying one leaf on the paper and using a sponge to dab paint around the edge of the leaf onto the paper. Lift the leaf and you will see a lovely leaf outline. Continue with several different leaf shapes and/or colors.
