Altered Board Book Basics and Beyond

This book a great resource for anyone wanting to try their hand at altering a board book. It covers all the important aspects of transforming a board book into a work of art. It starts out by explaining how to prepare a book and includes discussions of different techniques for using paint, textured backgrounds, text, and more. There is also a great glossary of materials.

This book is very inspiring. There are pictures of several completed projects - all of which are stunning! Browsing through all the pictures included in this book made me want to make several altered board books, to keep for myself and to give as gifts!

Old board books, usually children's books, should be easy enough to find - check thrift stores, garage sales, or even talk to your friends with kids... Or, if you prefer, you can start with a clean slate by purchasing a blank board book, also available from CT Publishing.

With the information in this book, you will learn all about different adhesives and when to use each one. You will discover how to use a variety of items you probably already have laying around your house or garage to make wonderfully textured backgrounds and embellishments.
