The Bottom Line
Using recycled and common household items, you can create a variety of imaginitive birdfeeders. Most of these birdhouses can be made in an hour or two and our sturdy enough to last for many years. This book is a great companion to Renee Schwartz's Birdhouses book.

Guide Review - Birdfeeders
Once again, Kids Can Press and Renee Schwarz have given us a book which contains a variety of projects using recycled items or items most of us have laying around our house. The birdfeeders in this book are made from flowerpots, juice cans, Frisbees, ketchup bottles, and other household objects.

While this is a book written for kids, adults will also like the unique projects shared. You can create a mushroom birdfeeder using a tin can and old flower pot. Transform a Frisbee into a cute, hanging spider that holds birdseed. Turn a hunk of wood or log into cat- or dog-shaped feeders. Construct a two-tiered birdfeeder creature using a tomato cage! These are just a few of the projects shared in this book!

With nine projects composed of recycled or common household materials, you are sure to find a project that interests you! Once you make the birdfeeder you like best, try your hand at a Birdhouse. I think I am going to start out by making the tin can mushroom, how about you?
