Guide Review - Fabric LeftoversThis book is packed full of inspirational ideas to help you use up scraps of fabric, old buttons, and even fancy beads. The author shares several techniques for refashioning smaller scraps into bigger pieces to use for special projects. She also shares several specific projects you can enjoy. She starts out by explaining different ways you can store, sort, and use fabric scraps along with suggestions regarding different threads. She also talks about different options using a variety of stitches on your sewing machine. Next, she explains the basic techniques she has come up with for re-using the fabric scraps. She shows us how to transform smaller pieces of fabric into larger pieces you can use to create a variety of useful projects. Among other things, she also shows us how to make fabric 'Sweet Beads', machine wrapped, button flowers, and flower buttons that can be used as stand-alone crafts or to embellish other projects. Finally, there are several projects you can try out. I think my favorites are the fabric frames and fabric flowers; however, it is hard to choose. She also teaches us how to make make fbaric 'candy' and cool jewelry. There will certainly be something in this book for everyone! Suggested Reading |
