Guide Review - Stuff to Hold Your Stuff
Using this book, basic supplies, and simple sewing techniques girls of all ages can make their own purses, wallets, and tote bags. Everyone is sure to find a project or two they love in this book which provides 16 fun and unique projects plus even more variations.

This book starts off by explaining the basic supplies needed for constructing the bags including pinking shears, sewing supplies, and a glue gun. Before it present it's projects, it also shares basic sewing directions along with tips and it even teaches some common sewing abbreviations. It then proceeds to the directions to make a collection of handy bags, totes, purses, cases, and wallets.

There are many books available that teach us how to sew basic purses and totes using fabric, but this book goes well beyond that. The supplies used in this book are a little more creative than ordinary fabric. Many of the supplies used to create these bags can be found laying around your home or garage. If you need to shop for supplies, you may want to explore your local hardware store or discount department store.

You can start out by raiding a closet or two and gathering a collection of ties to make a cool tote and a matching sunglass case. Search your kitchen or dining room and make a purse using 2 matching placemats. A unique overnight bag and toiletry case can be constructed by cutting up an old tarp you might have laying in the garage. The bathroom might be able to provide you with a colorful beach towel that can be refashioned into a beach bag. Duct tape, old maps, wrapping paper, and other similar items can be cut and layered to create a distinctive wallet.

This book gives you the step-by-step directions along with helpful illustrations to help you make all these and more fun bags. You may even find a project or two the boys will like!
