Guide Review - Spectacular Cards - Fabric, Paper & Game Board Greetings

This is one of the best card making books I have read! Along with amazingly creative projects, there are several pages packed full of basic instructions and helpful notes that will be useful in all your projects, card making or not. There are also dozens of helpful tips scattered through out this book. The author covers all the basic supplies, different kinds of glue, embellishment ideas, and paper selection. With all these basics and a few other items that can easily be found around your house or at garage sales and discount stores, she transforms simple card making into a unique art form.

Besides paper cards, she has sections in this book devoted to making cards using fabric and also using old game boards. The author has step-by-step directions for all of these card making methods, along with great photos. She also includes several projects for each method. This book also ventures beyond just making cards, it includes suggestions for homemade guest books, customized photo albums, personalized Shower gifts, and more.

Old game boards, can you believe it!?!? Actually, if you think about it, game boards are the perfect shape and already folded so neatly. I love all the ideas included in this book; and I am anxious to try the projects presented in this book, so I am off to go to some garage sales to find old games and embellishment objects. That is, after I spend a couple of hours checking out the Web sites of all the resources listed in the back of this book.
