Reindeer Candy Holder Craft

Reindeer Candy Holder Craft

Instructions to make candy jar that looks like a reindeer. A fun way to recycle baby food jars.

  • Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Cut two ear shapes (triangles) out of brown felt. Also cut out a piece of felt that will wrap around the jar.

Gather the bottom, straight edge of the ear so it looks more like a diamond shape. Attach the ears and the twigs, which will be the antlers, to the jar using masking tape. If you want, you can use chenille stems to shape antlers.

Being generous with the glue, attach the piece of felt you cut earlier to the jar to cover the tape and the ends of the ears and antlers. It will be a bit bumpy, but this is okay! Add a large brown pom-pom to the deer to look like a snout and then glue a small red pom-pom to it to be a nose and form a mouth using yarn. Also add wiggle eyes!

Once all of the glue is dry you can add candy or nuts! This much a cute decoration or a unique gift. If you prefer, you can use a larger jar or even a clay pot.
