At this point, I carefully press the edges of the blanket. Test a scrap piece of the same fabric first to make sure the iron does not scorch the fabric. I usually use a pressing cloth or even a simple cotton dish drying towel between the fabric and the iron. When you get to the edge where the open seam is, flip the raw edges in and pin it together.
