- Colored Fruit Flavored Cereal
- Crayons or Coloring Book Pages
- White Glue
- Large Zip-Top Bags
- Rolling Pin
- Cotton Swabs
First, start out by sorting the cereal by color, putting each color into their own zip-top bag. About a cup of each color is a good place to start. Once the sorting is done, push out all the air and close the zip-top bag. Use the rolling pin to crush the cereal until it looks like sand. Set the cereal sand aside.
Draw a picture on a piece of cardstock. Make sure any details are not too small. Instead of drawing a picture, you can cut a page out of a coloring and glue it to the cardstock or you can print out a free coloring book page on cardstock.
Now you can start painting the picture or coloring book page with glue! Simply paint an area with glue using a cotton swab and then sprinkle with the desired color of cereal sand. It is okay to sprinkle too much cereal sand on the glue because you can simply tip the paper and pour the extra cereal sand back into it's bag. When working with the glue, it is easiest to work on one color and one section at a time.
You can add as much or as little cereal sand as you like. Once done, let the picture dry before hanging it up.
