Lollipop Scarecrow

Lollipop Scarecrow

Dress up lollipops to give to your favorite kids, or make them for a classroom treat.

  • Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 20 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Cut a piece of muslin into a circle that is about 6" across. Pinking shears give the edge of the fabric a nice raggedy look. Next, cut a piece of yarn or raffia about 10" long.

Lay the fabric circle centered over the lollipop. Pull the edges down around the lollipop and tie it in place using the yarn or raffia. You now have a scarecrow face you can decorate.

You can glue on yarn or raffia for the hair and also add wiggle eyes. Use the marker to draw a mouth and even stitch lines. Finally, cut a fat triangle out of felt and glue the edges together to make a cone hat and glue it on top of the scarecrow's head.

Using this technique you can make a variety of Halloween characters. You can also make larger versions of this craft by using a wooden spoon instead of a lollipop.
