- 1 Large Black Pom-pom
- 2 Black Chenille Stems
- Wiggle Eyes
- Black Yarn
- Drinking Straw
- Craft Glue
Cut a piece of yarn about 3 feet long (this will vary depending on how long you want you puppet's string to be). Tie the piece of yarn around the middle of the pom-pom, as close to one end of the yarn as possible; trim any extra off the short end of the yarn so it blends into the pom-pom. This will form the spider's head and body.
Cut the two chenille stems in half. Lay the 4 chenille stem pieces side by side on your work surface (you will want to lay some wax paper or something similar down on your work surface first), making sure the ends line up as much as possible. Put a generous amount of glue on the pom-pom just below where the yarn is tied and lay it on the center of the chenille stems. Glue the two wiggle eyes on the pom-pom. Set it aside until the glue is dry.
Cut the stra in half. Once the glue is dry, string the loose end of the yarn through the straw (it sometimes helps if you wrap a small piece of tape around the end of the yarn). Pull the end of the yarn through the straw far enough to tie it.
Now, you can use the straw as a handle to make your spider jump and dance!
