We used 9 inch foil cake pans from the dollar store to use as our mold. Instead of using Quikrete, we used Fence N'Post that we sifted the rocks out of. This product is almost the same as quikrete except it dries much faster. We filled our cake pans with the dry Fence N'Post, so we knew how much we needed, and then mixed a bit of water into it in a wheel barrel. When using this product, you should make sure you have your design laid out ahead of time so when you pour you mixture into your mold you can decorate it right a way.
To decorate, we used glass beads from the dollar store and hand- and foot- prints of the kids. We used a stick to engrave the names and dates in to the stone before it set." ~ Jennifer Super
