Free Halloween Costume Pattern and Instructions

By , About.com Guide

Find out how to make this simple yet creative Halloween costume. Follow these directions submitted by tela1999 and you can dress up as a character from Where the Wild Things Are.

Materials Needed:

  • Sweatsuit
  • Felt
  • Faux Fur
  • Chenille Stems
  • Needle and Thread
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Instructions:
From tela1999: "My son was Max from Where the Wild Things Are last Halloween.

We bought a light colored sweatsuit and turned it inside out. We sewed some faux fur on the lower backside of the sweatshirt for a tail. Then we made a crown with yellow felt and sewed more faux fur around the base of the crown. We sewed the crown to the hood of the sweatshirt. For whiskers we put a few small holes near the front of the hood (near the face) and put chenille stems through them.

It was adorable!"
