On a small piece of freezer paper, draw a line as long as you measurement. Measure down about 3 inches and make draw another line that is parallel to the first and about an inch longer on each side. Draw to lines to connect the ends of the two lines and form an isosceles trapezoid. Cut it out.

Fold the isosceles trapezoid in half and cut out a shape similar to that shown in the photo. The top edge will be a gently curved line and the bottom should be bumps (two when folded and 4 when open). Hold it up to the neckline of the sweatshirt to see how to curve fits. It does not have to be exact, we will adjust it when we glue it down.

Now, use that same measurement to make another isosceles trapezoid, just about an inch longer than the first. Cut it out, fold it in half, and cut it similar to the way you cut the first one, EXCEPT this one should have 5 bumps (2 1/2 when folded in half.

Now you should be ready to use these two pattern pieces to cut out your felt chest feathers...
