How to Make a Ball Using Rubber Binders

Jenna Reedy shared these directions to help you make your own bouncing ball using a piece of tin foil and some rubber bands.

  • Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
  • Time Required: varies

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

 

Materials Needed:

  • Rubber Bands
  • Aluminum Foil

Instructions:
Start out by gathering as many rubber bands as you can find. Get a sheet of aluminum foil crumple it into a ball.

Take 1 rubber band at a time and twist it around the foil several of times. Continue this using one rubber band after another until your ball is the desired size or you cannot fit any more rubber bands on it.

When you are all finished throw the ball to the ground and see how high it bounces!
