Simple Beaded Candy Cane Ornament

Instructions to make simple Christmas tree ornaments using beads and chenille stems.

  • Age Guideline: 3 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 20 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

This is a great ornament even the youngest kids can help with!

Cut a piece of chenille stem about 8-inches long. Bend up 1/2-inch of one of the ends of the chenille stem. String several beads onto the chenille stem. You can simply use red and white beads or you can make colorful candy canes. Stop when you get about a 1/2-inch from the other end and fold up that end.

Now, simply bend down one end of the chenille stem to form a candy cane hook!
