Use these free instructions for making a pretend mouse in a tiny cup.

  • Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Use a medicine dosage cup - the kind that comes on top of most bottles of cough syrup. Paint your medicine cup. Cup a small half circle of felt or craft foam and glue it in place to be the cup's handle.

Glue a 1-inch pom-pom on the bottom of the cup, glue another 1-inch pom-pom on top of that. This will be your mouse's body and head peeking over the side of the cup. Cut about a 4-inch piece of chenille stem and glue it inside the cup as the mouse's tail.

Cut out 2 small felt circles for the mouse's ears and glued them in place. Use a small pom-pom for the mouse's raised nose/muzzle area and then glued on a black seed bead (If you want to make small thread whiskers, glue these on before the seed bead). Glue the wiggle eyes in place and you now have a tiny mouse sitting in a cup!

You can also add a piece of ribbon or yarn and make this a fun Christmas tree ornament!
