- Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- Sand Paper
- Ribbon
- Miscellaneous Supplies (see suggestions below)
- Cinnamon Stick
- Craft Glue
- Scissors
Instructions:
Use the pattern below to cut out 2 gingerbread man shapes. Trace the pattern onto the back of one piece of sand paper. Turn the pattern over, and trace it onto the back of the another sheet of sand paper. Cut out the gingerbread men.
Cut a piece of ribbon about 12-inches long. Spread a thin layer of glue on the back (smooth) side of each sand paper gingerbread man. Fold your ribbon in half and hold the two ends together. Stick about an inch of the two ends of the ribbon onto the glue so to loop looks like it it sticking out the top of the gingerbread man's head. Lay the other gingerbread man cut-out on top of the first to sandwich your hanging ribbon in between them.
Give your gingerbread man a face and other features using whatever craft supplies you have on hand. You can use small candies, rick-rack, felt scraps, construction paper, white paint (to look like frosting), etc.
Finally, scrape the cinnamon stick over the sand paper to make it smell sweet.
