The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- Red Felt
- Ribbon
- Cotton Balls or Fiber Fill
- Craft Glue
- Scissors
Instructions:
Cut a triangle shape out of red felt. Make the top point flat and the bottom edge rounded. Cut a 12-inch piece of ribbon, tie it into a circle, and glue it to the top of the triangle shape.
Roll the felt triangle into a cone and glue the 2 edges together. Make sure the ribbon sticks out the top of the cone! Fluff out the cotton balls and glue them around the brim of the hat. Glue one cotton ball on the top point of the hat. Again, make sure the ribbon still sticks out.
You now have a completed Santa Hat Ornament! When we made these, I used fabric paint and wrote the child's name and the year on each hat.
