By Sherri Osborn, About.com

These instructions will tech you how to make a large sack for carrying special treasures.

  • Age Guideline: 3 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 15 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
This is an easy craft idea! Start out by decorating your bag however you like. As you do, keep in mind that the top 4-inches of the bag will be cut off to make a strap and, after that, the top inch will be folded in.

Cut a 4-inch strip off the top of the paper bag, this should now be a big loop. Cut the strip to make it one long strip and set it aside.

Fold down the top edge of the paper bag about an inch. Fold the strip in half so you have one long strip that is 2-inches wide and double thick. Staple each end of the strap onto the top, inside edge of your bag to make the strap. The ends of the strip should be directly across from each other. You might also want to reinforce the stapled areas with tape.

Voila, fill your treasure sack with whatever you want (nothing too heavy though, or your strap might rip)!
