Learn how you can turn an ordinary vase or jar into an elegant centerpiece using ribbon and decoupage techniques.

  • Age Guideline: 12 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 45 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Starting at the top of the vase, use a paint brush or a foam brush to spread Mod Podge about 2-inches of the vase - all the way around. Hold one end of the ribbon along the top edge and wrap the ribbon around the vase, sticking it onto the Mod Podge. You should overlap the edges just enough so you don't see the glass underneath.

Continue this, working in approximately 2-inch increments, until the vase is covered. Let the vase dry completely.

We made 105 of these vases for my daughter's wedding. To add a little extra detail to the yellow flowers we used a hot glue gun to embellish them with pearls.
