- Age Guideline: 12 Years and Up
- Time Required: 60+ minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- 3 Paper Mache Boxes (They should be 3 different sizes to stack like different layers on a wedding cake)
- Colored Paper (We used black and white)
- Cardstock (We used yellow and white)
- Ribbon (We used yellow and white polka dots)
- Craft Glue
- Markers
- Decoupage Medium
- Paint Brush and Foam Brush
- Scissors
- Utility Knife
Instructions:
Start off by using the colored paper, foam brush, decoupage medium, and these step-by-step directions to cover the lids and bottoms of all 3 boxes. Choose colors that match your wedding colors! Let the decoupage dry completely.
Make a label for each box by cutting out 3 white rectangles and matting them on yellow rectangles cut about a 1/2 inch bigger. Use a marker to write "EAT", "DRINK", "BE MARRIED" on the the cardstock rectangles. Glue the rectangles to the side of the boxes. Glue a piece of ribbon around the top edge of each box. Let the glue dry.
Stack the 3 boxes on top of each other as shown in the picture. Slide each box to the back edge of the box below it. Use a utility knife to cut a hole near the front edge of the bottom box for cards to be slid into.
