Then lay out miscellaneous crafts bits including feathers, fuzz balls, sparkles, stickers, buttons, felt dots, etc. Have the kids glue anything and everything all over the box. Then poke a hole on either of box, toward the top lip. Twist two pipe- cleaners together to make a strong handle. Insert the pipe-cleaner strap into the holes on either end of the box. Finally, use foam letter stickers to put the child's name on the box!

Tips and Tricks

  • We used our boxes to go on a nature collection hunt. So I thought ahead to use a lining of tissue paper in the boxes, so we could keep them clean and use them again. I plan to have the kids use them to do a color collection hunt in the house. I will have them go around the house finding various items of a certain color and collect them in their treasure boxes.
