Learn how Cameron Hortin dressed up an ordinary pumpkin to look like a blur M & M wearing a witches costume.
"Choose a pumpkin that looks like an M&M, in my case I chose a peanut M&M (my favorite). Buy some acrylic paint. Make sure to get a lot more of the color that you plan on using as the base color. Since pumpkins have a waxy coating, you wont be able to just paint it the way you'd paint a wall. The wet paint will come off if you swipe over it before it dries. So try to use long thick strokes and allow it to dry. You'll need to do several coats before it will cover up the pumpkins orange. Allow the base color to dry. Believe it or not thats the hard part.
It's relatively easy to draw and color the face, since you have a base coat of paint on the waxy pumpkin. I used a picture from the internet as a guide for the "M" and the characters face. I took some pictures from the internet of the m&m characters and cut ad pasted them on windows paint. I cropped out the arms and legs and enlarged them. Then printed them off and cut them out. I used some blue paint as glue to secure them to the pumpkin. You could also sew some gloved arms and legs together and use them.
I was able to buy a witch hat with built in pig tail and simply put it on the pumpkin and secured it with some of the blue paint, using it as if it were glue. You could dress up your m&m character however you want, a vampire, Frankenstein, a pimp, whatever you want."
Tips and Tricks
- Download M&M characters images off the internet. paste the image to windows paint, and then enlarge the arms and legs or use them as templates for your design and print off the printer.
- MY INSPIRATION WAS FROM THE PINK M&M CHARACTER SUBMITTED BY Kellie Walenciak. THANKS KELLIE!!!

Thanks Cameron. I love the blue M & M... He will enjoy a spot in the Halloween pumpkin photo gallery right next to Kelly's pink M&M pumpkin!
