Materials Needed

Black foam poster board

Box top (we used a paper box)

Acrylic paint

Black paint pen

Haunted house coloring sheets (found on web)

Bag of misc Halloween decorations

Spider web

Small pumpkins

Glue gun

Glue stick

Scissors

Instructions

Glue the poster board to the box top and paint the "yard" green. Glue spider web (only slightly stretched out) to the box top to create a fog effect. Color haunted house, moon, and any other decorations you want to include, cut out, and glue to the background. Paint your pumpkins to look like m&ms and use glue gun to attach them to the box top. Decorate around the pumpkins. (Finger puppets look like they are climbing out of the ground. We got a bag of Halloween toys with puppets, bugs, skeletons and rings for $3.)

Tips and Tricks

  • We made this for my six year old's school carnival pumpkin decorating contest. It turned out to be a really fun family night. Have fun and be creative. Let everyone in the family decorate a pumpkin. We chose m&ms, but you could do anything.
