Can someone help out Jewel560? She is looking for instructions explaining how to make waste paper baskets using magazine pages that are rolled up tightly and attached together. If you know how to do this or know of a good resource, please let Jewel560 know!

When I was a little kid in Sunday school, we did those baskets. What I remember was that we rolled each magazine page and glued the edge of each one with Elmer’s glue until we had enough to go around a round cylinder to be used as the wastebasket. Then each little roll was attached to the wastebasket side by side with the Elmer’s glue. Nothing to it!

I think I’ve seen what you are talking about in a book titled “The Big Ass Book of Crafts” By Mark Montano, if that helps!

Something to add to her directions: old phone cord (the straight stuff). Cut in small pieces, about an inch long. Stick it in the holes at top of magazines after glue dries on basket. Makes it better. My mom still has my sister’s!
