I absolutely love crafting with trash! Instead of immediately throwing an unwanted item into the trash can or recycling bin, I take a second look at it to see if it inspires me. Then I add it to the huge shelf in my pantry that is just full of trashy treasures! What is your favorite household item to recycling into a craft project?

Although I believe that everyday should be Earth Day, in honor of today being recognized as the official Earth Day, I updated this list of a dozen of the most popular recycling craft projects on the Family Crafts site. You can test out craft projects made using old buttons, check boxes, burnt out light bulbs, toilet paper rolls, and many more household items.

If you make one or more of these projects, make sure you snap a photo of it and submit it to be featured. If you have a favorite recycling craft, submit it using this simple form and it will be posted for all to enjoy and try.
