Butterfree Pokemon Craft
How to Make a Pokemon Craft

By Sherri Osborn, About.com

Instructions to make a Pokemon Butterfree character craft.

Materials Needed:

  • 2 Large Purple Pom-Poms
  • 2 Round Coffee Filter
  • Watercolor Paints
  • Black Pipe Cleaner
  • 2 Small Red Beads
  • 1 Small Turquoise Bead
  • Turquoise Felt
  • Glue

Instructions:
Take the coffee filters and spray them with water until they lay flat but aren't drenched (it should only take a few short sprays). Blob the watercolors on the wet coffee filters; they will blend together to make colorful designs. When you are happy with your design on one, repeat this process with another coffee filter. Put the wet filters in a safe place to dry. This will have wings a bit more colorful than Butterfree's, but you can just use a marker instead to draw a truer design.

When they are dry gather up the coffee filter in the middle, trying to keep the outside edges flat. Glue the wings onto one of the purple pom-poms. It works best to use a hot glue gun, but please get an adult to help! Now glue the other pom-pom to the first pom-pom right where you glued on the coffee filters. Spread the ends of the coffee filter out to look like wings.

Fold the pipe cleaners into V shapes the size you want your antenna to be, cut, and glue to the top of one of the pom-poms. Glue on the red beads for eyes and the turquoise beads in the nose/mouth area. Cut out 2 very small turquoise felt ovals and glue them on for the feet.

Your Butterfree is now done! If you want, you can attach a magnet strip to the back and hang it on the fridge!
