Materials Needed:
- Peter Pan Costume (see pictures/compare prices)
- Trash Bags
- Duct Tape
- Dark Make-Up
Instructions:
This costume is a play on words. You are essentially making a homeless Peter Pan.
Egg's wife made his costume, but you can also buy a Peter Pan costume (see pictures/compare prices). The real trick is to make your Peter Pan costume look as dirty and ragged as possible. You can accomplish this by making small tears in the costume and also making it look dirty using smudges of dark make-up. Egg suggests using sandpaper on the costume to make worn spots. Do the same with the hat and tights. Use the dark make-up on your face and exposed body parts to make it look like you have not taken a bath in a long time.
The real 'kicker' or this costume, according to Egg is the shoes. Do not use Peter Pan-style shoes, instead wear whatever comfortable shoes you want. Once you put on your shoes, cover then with garbage bags held in place with duct tape. For a finishing touch, make yourself a cardboard sign.
From Sherri: I love the cardboard sign idea! Why not write something like "Will Fly for Food" or maybe "Will Grow-Up for Food."
