Author and crafter Sherri Habb not only shares techniques and designs from her studio, she shares her studio. She explains how you can use your own craft studio, no matter how big or small, to help develop creativity and inspiration. She also explains some of the things that help her, such as staying organized, creating an idea notebook, and taking or teaching classes. You will also see how she gathers inspiration from all areas of her life, including her past.

This book introduces a variety of techniques and mediums that you can use to make jewelry. You will find a listing of tools, supplies, and techniques that are used in basic wire working. Learn all about mixing epoxy resin clay, which will give you results similar to polymer clay except it does not require heat to be cured. Also explained are methods for transferring images, using silicone mold putty, mixing resin, firing metal clay, and using patinas to give metal a vintage look.

When I first flipped through this book, some of these techniques and mediums did intimidate me, but once I read through the author's introductions and explanations that apprehension went away and I was anxious to try them all. Along with the techniques explained in this book, you will find 25 creative projects that will allow you to try your hand at your newly learned skills. The projects she shares are inspired by memories, seasons, collections, her past, and hobbies.

While this book is not aimed at the younger members of the family, older children and adults should find a project or two that "allows them to tell their own story." Not only are the projects unique and attractive, but they also have the potential of becoming treasured family heirlooms.
