Guide Review - 1, 2, 3 I Can Paint Book

This book is a great addition to your arts and crafts book shelf. This is not simply a how-to book parents can use to show their kids how to paint, it is a book written for parents to read along with their kids. Not only is each painting project wonderfully illustrated with amusing drawings and colorful photographs, but the material list offered in the front of the book is too. There is also a glossary of painting related terms for kids to learn.

This book teaches kids how they can use their imagination to paint wonderful works of art. The book shares easy-to-understand directions to show them how to paint several scenes including an underwater world, a farm from above, a field of sunny flowers, busy city streets, and more. While this book sticks with a 'places' theme, it also has suggestions for parents and kids to paint beyond the 'places' theme.

This is one of several books in the Starting Art series from Kids Can Press. The Starting Art series introduces art concepts such as color, form and texture, reinforced and put into practice through the creative process. Each book includes a visual glossary of key art terms and a note to parents and teachers on how to ensure a good art experience every time.
