The number of different papers/fabrics you need will depend on the template you are using. The number of different papers/fabrics will correspond to the number of sides your template has:

I chose 4 different papers for my square template and used a paper trimmer to cut them into strips approximately 2" x 6". The measurements do not have to be precise. If you use fabric, I would suggest using a rotary cutter and cutting mat to cut your strips.

We will be folding our strips in half, lengthwise, to get a clean edge, but this also makes your finished project thicker. If you want your finished project thinner, cut your strips approximately 1" x 6".
